So How Will We Get There?

The Fayetteville Animal Shelter had a kill rate of 36% last year. We’d like that number to be 10% or less.

  1. An aggressive Trap, Neuter and Release program for feral cats.
  2. A high volume, low cost spay/neuter program for the public. {FAS currently provides around 400 a year, to make a significant impact thousands need to be done annually}
  3. Networking with several rescues simultaneously.
  4. An efficient foster program that is consistently managed and forecasts seasonal trends.
  5. Regular adoption events
  6. Pet retention education for the public, including easily available resources in times of need.
  7. Medical and behavioral rehabilitation for pets that pass through the shelter.
  8. Excellent public relations with the community.
  9. A strong and structured volunteer program.
  10. A dedicated and compassionate Shelter Director with a desire for change.
  11. City government support.
