The Fayetteville Animal Shelter had a kill rate of 36% last year. We’d like that number to be 10% or less.
- An aggressive Trap, Neuter and Release program for feral cats.
- A high volume, low cost spay/neuter program for the public. {FAS currently provides around 400 a year, to make a significant impact thousands need to be done annually}
- Networking with several rescues simultaneously.
- An efficient foster program that is consistently managed and forecasts seasonal trends.
- Regular adoption events
- Pet retention education for the public, including easily available resources in times of need.
- Medical and behavioral rehabilitation for pets that pass through the shelter.
- Excellent public relations with the community.
- A strong and structured volunteer program.
- A dedicated and compassionate Shelter Director with a desire for change.
- City government support.
